(The Spread) – As the Green Bay Packers get ready to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2011 Super Bowl, let’s take a look at how Aaron Rodgers and Co. fared statistically against the rest of the league.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com, the Packers are currently a 2.5-point favorite over the Steelers for Super Bowl Sunday. The over/under total for the game is sitting at 44.5 points.
Packers Offensive Stats: Green Bay had an outstanding year offensively. The Pack averaged 25.2 points per game (7th in the league), 256.7 passing yards per game (5th) and ranked second in yards per pass attempt with a 7.7 average. They were also third in time of possession percentage (53.83%) and seventh in third down conversion percentage (42.74%).
Where they struggled offensively was with their rushing game. They ranked 21st in rushing yards per game (103.2) and 26th in rushing yards per attempt (3.8). That said, James Starks emerged towards the end of the year and into the playoffs as a true weapon out of the Packers’ backfield. He rushed for 123 yards on 23 carries against the Eagles in the Wildcard Round and scored a touchdown against the Bears in the NFC title game. He’s provided Green Bay’s offense with balance – something they haven’t had all season.
Packers’ Defensive Stats: Defensively, Green Bay has been just as good. The Packers’ D allowed just 15.3 points per game this year, which ranks them tied for first with the team they’ll face on Sunday. They allow just 304.8 total yards per game, which is good for fourth in the league, and held teams to only 107.7 yards per game on the ground (11th). Thanks to outstanding cornerbacks Tramon Williams and Charles Woodson, the Packers held opponents to under 200 yards per game passing (197.1, good for fourth in the NFL) and 5.9 yards per pass attempt (3rd). Simply put, Dom Capers’ defense was absolutely outstanding this season.
Other Notable Stats: The Packers rank third at +0.7 in turnover margin per game and fifth in takeaways per game with an average of 2.1. They also rank fourth in penalties per game with an average of 4.8 and are first in opponent touchbacks per game with 0.2.
