Bucs vs. Saints NFL Week 9 Odds
(The Spread) – Despite their shocking loss to the Rams last Sunday, the Saints are nearly double-digit favorites this week against NFC South foe Tampa Bay.
TAMPA BAY: The Bucs had plenty to work on during their bye week following an ugly 24-18 loss to the Bears in London two Sundays ago. Now they face a team in the Saints who they beat at home just three weeks ago. Running back LeGarrette Blount (328 rushing yards, 3 TDs) should return this week after missing nearly a month with a left knee sprain. He’ll be a welcome sight to a Tampa offense that has been inconsistent thus far in 2011.
NEW ORLEANS: The Saints were victims of the biggest upset in Week 8 when the Rams blasted them 31-21 as a 13.5-point home underdog. New Orleans will head back home this Sunday just two weeks after scoring 62 points in a rout over the Colts on Sunday Night Football. The loss to St. Louis dropped the Saints’ season record to 5-3 and their ATS record to 4-4, although they are 3-0 at home this season. Drew Brees leads the team with 2,746 passing yards while Jimmy Graham has a team-high five touchdowns.
ODDS: The Saints opened as 9-point home favorites over the Bucs and that’s currently where the line sits. Tampa Bay is 1-1 on the road this year while New Orleans is 3-0 at home. The over/under total for this NFC South contest has been set at 50 points.
TRENDS: The under is 6-0 in the last six meetings between these two teams, while the Buccaneers are 7-1 against the spread in their last eight games against the Saints in New Orleans. The underdog is also 13-6 ATS in the last 19 meetings between these two teams while the road team is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings.
