NFL Week 7 Free Picks

(The Spread) – Check out which values we see on the Week 7 scoreboard in the NFL.

We finished with another .500 effort last Sunday as we continue to trend water with our NFL picks this year. While the 49ers won outright as a road dog and the Raiders hung on to cover against the Browns, the Panthers and Saints were our two flops. That puts our record at 12-11-1 for the season.

Chicago Bears @ Tampa Bay Bucs, 1:00PM ET

Both of these teams have been the model of inconsistency over the first six weeks of the season, although they’ve still combined to win seven games. Seeing as how this game will be played at a neutral site in London and the spread is only 1, go with the better team in the Bucs. Chicago looked great against a bad Minnesota team last Sunday but they have yet to play well on the road. According to latest NFL trends, the Bears are also 1-4 against the spread in their last five games against the Bucs, who are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games as an underdog.

NFL WEEK 7 FREE PICK: TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS +1

Denver Broncos @ Miami Dolphins, 1:00PM ET

Miami just isn’t a very good football team right now as it continues to struggle on both sides of the ball. Granted, the Broncos (1-4) haven’t looked any better, but at least they’re coming off a bye and got a shot in the arm with the insertion of Tim Tebow into the starting lineup. The underdog is 4-0 against the spread in the last four meetings between these two teams while the Dolphins are 0-7-1 against the spread in their last eight overall games. They’re also 0-6-1 in their last seven versus the AFC and are coming off a short week after playing on Monday night in New York. Look for Tebow to pick up his first win as a starter in 2011.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Arizona Cardinals, 4:05PM ET

Let’s not over think this one, shall we? The Steelers haven’t looked great outside of their Week 5 thumping of the Titans, but they’re a much better team than Arizona and should win this game outright. And if you believe that Pittsburgh will win outright, then you also have to believe that the Steelers will win by more than a field goal. Granted, home field advantage and the fact that the Cardinals are coming off a bye do factor in here. But unless Kevin Kolb raises his level of play then Pittsburgh’s defense could have a field day with the Arizona offense.

NFL WEEK 7 FREE PICK: PITTSBURGH STEELERS –3.5

Kansas City Chiefs @ Oakland Raiders, 4:05PM ET

Whether or not Carson Palmer starts, I like the points in this game. It was great when oddsmakers believed that Palmer would start and the line was up to 5.5. But now that it appears as though Kyle Boller is starting quarterback, I still like the Chiefs with the points. Either way Hue Jackson will have to keep his offense vanillia and when you consider KC is coming off a bye and this is a divisional game, there’s value in the dog as long as the number stays above 3. And even then there’s still a chance KC wins outright.
