2011 NFL Week 6 Sunday Night Football Odds & Spread: Vikings vs. Bears

Vikings vs. Bears SNF Odds

(The Spread) – NFC North rivals clash on Sunday Night Football in Week 6 when the Bears host the Vikings at 8:20PM ET.

MINNESOTA: The Vikings finally picked up their first win of the season last week by crushing the Cardinals 34-10 at home. That ran Minnesota’s record to just 1-4 on the year and 2-2-1 against the spread. The Vikings hope that Jared Allen and the rest of their pass rush can cause problems for a Chicago team that has had major issues along its offensive line this season.

CHICAGO: The Bears fell to 2-3 on the year with a loss to the Lions in Detroit on Monday Night Football in Week 5. The good news is that they return home, where they’re 2-1 on the year after beating the Falcons (Week 1) and Panthers (Week 4). Chicago has failed to cover the spread in each of its last four games and is just 1-4 ATS overall this season. The Bears may be without one of their top defenders tonight as Julius Peppers could miss the game with a knee injury.

ODDS & LINE MOVEMENT: Matt Forte and the Bears opened as 5.5-point favorites at the Las Vegas Hilton but since then the line has dropped a full 2.5 points. Now Chicago is only a field goal favorite while the over/under total has dropped from 45 to 41.5 at the Hilton as well. Even though the Vikings have struggled, it appears as though they do have some support this Sunday on the road.

TRENDS: According to latest NFL trends, the favorite is 5-1 against the spread in the last six meetings between these two teams while the home squad is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings. The over is also 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams in Chicago and 7-3-1 in the last 11 overall meetings. The Vikings are 2-5 against the number in their last seven games against the Bears and 1-7 ATS in their last eight road games versus Chicago.
