Texans vs. Dolphins Free Pick
(The Spread) – The Texans started off their 2011 season with a bang and now look to go 2-0 when they take on the Dolphins at 4:15PM ET.
Odds: The Texans routed the Peyton Manning-less Colts in Week 1 and are now the presumed favorites to win the AFC South. So it’s no surprise that oddsmakers currently list them as 3-point road favorites against the Dolphins on Sunday. The over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 47.5 points.
Line Movement: The line opened at Miami +1 but it rocketed up to 3 within a couple of days and it hasn’t budged since then. The over/under total opened at 43.5 but that too soared, and is now up to 48 at the Las Vegas Hilton and at the majority of online sports books.
Public Betting: Of the 7,000-plus wagers on Sunday’s game, 82% of NFL public bettors currently favor the Texans –3. This information is subject to change, however, so make sure you click on the link provided for the most up-to-date public betting info.
NFL Free Pick: Take Houston. The Texans have once again started off hot and they shouldn’t have much problems rolling their Week 1 performance into Week 2 against the Dolphins. According to latest NFL trends, the road team is 4-1 against the spread in the last five games between these two teams while the Dolphins are 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall. They’re also 1-4 ATS in their last five versus the AFC and 3-12-2 ATS in their last 17 games in September. While the Texans don’t have the same firepower as New England, Miami’s defense could be just as tired against Houston come the second half as the Dolphin offense struggles with Chad Henne at the helm. Look for Matt Schaub to have a solid passing day against a good, but overmatched Miami secondary.
