2011 NFL Week 17 Redskins vs. Eagles Odds, Spread & Totals

Redskins vs. Eagles Week 17 Odds

PHILADELPHIA, PA (The Spread) – NFC East rivals will square off in Philly this Sunday when the Eagles host the Redskins in the 2011 NFL regular season finale.

WASHINGTON: One week after shocking the Giants in New York with a 23-10 victory, the Redskins suffered a letdown last Sunday when they fell to the previously two-win Vikings. That dropped Washington’s record to 5-10 and 7-8 against the spread, which secured last place in the division. With just one more game remaining in this dreadful season, the Redskins will look to finish the year on a high note by upsetting the Eagles on Sunday.

PHILADELPHIA: Had the Eagles played all season like they did the past three weeks they’d be getting ready for the postseason. Instead, they were eliminated last Sunday when the Giants defeated the Jets. The Eagles still managed to beat a Tony Romo-less Cowboys team 20-7 as Michael Vick threw for 293 yards and two touchdown passes. The win improved the Eagles’ record to 7-8 on the year and 7-8 against the spread. Philly has won three straight but the self-anointed “Dream Team” will fall well short of expectations, even if it beats Washington on Sunday.

ODDS: Oddsmakers have installed the Eagles as a 9-point favorite over the Redskins this weekend, while the over/under total for Sunday’s game is currently sitting at 46.5 points. Washington enters the week with a 5-10 overall record and is 3-4 on the road this year, while Philadelphia is 7-8 overall and 2-5 at home.

TRENDS: The Redskins are 4-0 against the spread in their last four trips to Philadelphia while the road team is 5-0 against the number in the last five meetings between these two teams. The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Philadelphia and 6-0 in the Eagles’ last six games against the NFC East.
