NFL Week 14 Opening Odds
(The Spread) – The opening odds are out for Week 14 in the NFL, including the marquee Sunday night game between the Giants and Cowboys.
Even though Tony Romo and the Cowboys lost to the Cardinals on Sunday, they were saved when Green Bay knocked off the Giants in New York. That means Dallas remains one-game up on New York in the NFC East, making Sunday night’s tilt between the Cowboys and Giants a huge affair. The ‘Boys have opened as a 3-point home favorite over the G-Men, with the over/under total opening at 49 points.
One of the more underrated matchups will be played in Cincinnati when the Bengals and Texans square off at 1:00PM ET. Both teams are fighting for their playoff lives as Houston currently owns a two-game lead over Tennessee in the AFC South and Cincinnati is trying to hang on to a Wild Card berth. The Texans have opened as a 3-point road underdog at Cincinnati, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 37.5 points.
With Oakland’s loss to Miami and Denver’s win over the Vikings in Week 13, first place in the AFC West is now completely up for grabs. Both teams are currently sitting at 7-5 overall, although the Raiders certainly have a tougher task than Denver this week. While the Broncos will host the Jay Cutler and Matt Forte-less Bears at 4:05PM ET, the Raiders travel to Green Bay to take on the undefeated Packers at 4:15PM ET. Oakland has opened as an 11-point underdog while Denver is a 3-point favorite, respectively.
The Thursday and Monday night prime time games could be duds, as the Steelers are 13.5-point favorites over the hapless Browns, while the Seahawks are 6.5-point favorites over the brutal Rams. I’m sure ESPN was hoping that the Seahawks and Rams would be battling it out for first place in the NFC West again when it decided to put the Seattle-St.Louis matchup on its Monday night schedule at the beginning of the year.
