2011 NFL Week 10 Odds & Point Spreads: Titans vs. Panthers on CBS

Titans vs. Panthers NFL Week 10 Odds

CHARLOTTE, NC (The Spread) – If the Titans hope to keep pace in the AFC South, they’ll need a win on Sunday versus the Panthers at 1:00PM ET.

TENNESSEE: Following their 24-17 loss to the Bengals in Week 9, the Titans now find themselves two games behind the Texans in the AFC South. Tennessee has now lost three of its last four games and is just 3-5 against the spread. Their only victory against a team with a winning record came all the way back in Week 2 when they beat Baltimore, 26-13. Their other three wins have come against the likes of Denver, Cleveland and Indianapolis. The good news for the Titans is that Chris Johnson recorded his first 100-plus yard effort of the season in the loss to Cincinnati. Maybe he’s finally starting to shake off the rust that has plagued him all season.

CAROLINA: The Panthers had two weeks to think about their brutal loss to the Vikings in Week 8. But they should be fresh coming off their bye and have a chance to reach three wins if they can beat a struggling Tennessee team. The Panthers continue to be competitive under rookie quarterback Cam Newton, even though they’re 2-6 on the year. They’re 5-3 against the spread although they haven’t covered back-to-back games since they produced a backdoor cover against Chicago in Week 4 and nearly beat New Orleans in Week 5.

ODDS: Oddsmakers have installed the Panthers as 3.5-point favorites over the Titans, while the over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 46 points. Tennessee comes into this matchup with a 4-4 record overall and a 1-2 road mark, while Carolina is 2-6 overall and 2-3 at home.

TRENDS: The Titans are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games following a straight up loss but they’re 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games on grass. They’re also 0-5 ATS in their last five November games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games as a road underdog. The Panthers, meanwhile, are 5-1 ATS in their last six home games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games in Week 10.
