2011 NFL Week 1: Steelers vs. Ravens Picks & Predictions

Steelers vs. Ravens Free Pick

(The Spread) – Easily the best matchup of the early games on Sunday is in Baltimore as the Ravens host the Steelers at 1:00PM ET.

Odds: Despite their troubles with the Steelers over the years, odds makers have made the Ravens 1-point home favorites versus Pittsburgh on Sunday. The over/under total for this game is currently 36 points.

Line Movement: The Ravens opened as 3-point favorites in Vegas back in April but the line has slowly dropped over the past couple of months. While most online books have the Ravens as 1-point favorites, they’re 1.5-point favs in Vegas while the over/under total has stayed relatively steady after opening at 37 points.

NFL Free Pick: Take Pittsburgh. According to latest NFL trends, the Steelers are 5-1-1 against the spread in their last seven games against the Ravens and 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 road games against Baltimore. The underdog is also 6-2-1 ATS in the last nine meetings between these two teams, while the road squad is 3-1-1 ATS in the last five meetings between the Ravens and Steelers. Pittsburgh has some issues along the offensive line but the Steelers seem to have the Ravens number. Baltimore has not played consistently in big games under John Harbaugh and while both running games could struggle, Ben Roethlisberger and his plethora of receivers should make plenty of players to ink out a win.
