Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have “Under 4.30 seconds” listed at –135 on the money line for the prop, “Best 40 Yard Dash Time by Any Palyer at the 2011 NFL Scouting Combine.” There’s a good chance that receiver prospect Ricardo Lockett will break the 4.3 mark, so under might be a solid bet.

Virginia Tech’s Tyrod Taylor is expected to best Cam Newton in the 40-Yard dash. Taylor is –120 on the money line, while Newton is –110. Missouri’s Blaine Gabbert is expected to run faster than Ryan Mallett in the same drill, as Gabbert is –220 on the money line and Mallett (who isn’t overly athletic) is +170. (Jake Locker is –185 to outrun Christian Ponder, who is +145).

As for the running backs, Mark Ingram and Ryan Williams are both –115 for “Player to record the fastest 40 yard dash” at this year’s combine. There would seem to be a ton of value in Williams, considering Ingram isn’t known for his straight-line speed. (Although it’s important to note that Williams was bothered by a hamstring injury for all of the 2010 season.)

For, “Player to record most bench presses at the 2011 NFL Scouting Combine,” Colorado’s Nate Solder is –115 on the money line to beat Wisconsin’s Gabe Carimi, who is also –115. Carimi proclaimed that he’s the best offensive tackle in the draft, so certainly the former Badger is not shy about his abilities.

“Most Bench Presses by Any Player at the 2011 NFL scouting combine” has Over 42.5 listed at –130, while Under 42.5 is even. There’s usually an offensive linemen who can get into the 40s when he’s repping, which is why the over is listed where it is.

Below are the individual 40-yard dash props for the 2011 scouting combine.
