According to online sports book Sportsbook.com, this year’s Pro Bowl is now a pick’em, while the over/under total is up to 66.5. The NFC opened as a 1-point favorite, while the over/under has shot up from 62.5 to 66.5.
In the last 25 meetings between the AFC and NFC, the AFC is 14-11 straight up while averaging 26.0 points per game and 25.1 points against. The NFC is 11-14 and has averaged 25.1 points for and 26.0 points against.
Philip Rivers, Peyton Manning, Arian Foster, Andre Johnson and Jamaal Charles are just some of the AFC’s stars, while Michael Vick, Matt Ryan Drew Brees, Adrian Peterson, Michael Turner, Calvin Johnson and Roddy White will suit up for the NFC squad.
Pro Bowl Free Pick: Jump on the over before it reaches 100. In the past 11 Pro Bowls, the over has hit nine times and the average for total points between the two teams is 65.7. When you factor in how the defenses can’t blitz, you have a recipe for a high scoring game. Guys like Rivers, Manning and Brees will chew up the yards threw the air because they’ll have time. The defenses are usually lax in these games too, as it’s supposed to be a fun game for fans. Seeing as how nobody is worried about running up the score, the points will be a plenty. Our pick is the Over 66.5.
