Tampa Bay opened the season with a 27-20 loss at home to Detroit. The Bucs had just 315 yards of offense and only 56 rushing yards in the loss. Tampa Bay also had two turnovers and actually got 7 points off a defensive touchdown. Josh Freeman still had 259 yards passing in the loss, but most of the yards came late in the game with Tampa Bay trying to erase a 14-point deficit.
Minnesota lost 24-17 at San Diego last Sunday. The Vikings held a 17-7 lead at halftime, but couldnβt hold off the Chargers in the second half. In a week that saw a lot of offense, Minnesota had just 187 total yards and quarterback Donovan McNabb threw for only 39 yards on 7-of-15 passing. Defensively, the Vikings forced two turnovers, but still gave up 407 yards of offense to the Chargers.
In terms of Injuries, Tampa Bay safety Tanard Jackson is out for the game because of a suspension while cornerback Myron Lewis is questionable with an ankle injury. Minnesota defensive tackle Kevin Williams is suspended for the game while cornerback Asher Allen is questionable with a foot injury.
