Chiefs vs. Broncos Week 17 Odds
DENVER, CO (The Spread) – The mission is simple for the Broncos: Beat the Chiefs on Sunday and become AFC West champs.
KANSAS CITY: The Chiefs couldn’t keep their slim playoff hopes alive last week by knocking off the Raiders at home. They had a game-winning field attempt blocked by Richard Seymour in the closing seconds of regulation and then gave up a long pass to Carson Palmer in overtime to bury their postseason chances in a 16-13 loss. The defeat dropped Kansas City’s record to 6-9 on the year, although the Chiefs have covered the spread in eight of their 15 games this season. (But failed to do so in last Saturday’s loss to Oakland.)
DENVER: Thanks to their ugly 40-14 loss to the Bills in Buffalo last week, the Broncos put themselves in a must-win situation this Sunday versus the Chiefs. Either that, or they must hope the Chargers knock off the Raiders in order to win the AFC West. Tim Tebow was intercepted four times in last week’s loss, which included two pick-sixes. The defeat dropped Denver’s record to 8-7 overall and 7-8 against the spread, as John Fox’s squad has now failed to cover in three-straight games.
