Rams vs. Cardinals NFL Week 9 Odds
(The Spread) – Two 1-6 teams will meet in Arizona on Sunday when the Cardinals host the Rams at 4:15PM ET.
ST. LOUIS: The Rams pulled off the most shocking upset of any team in Week 8, as they beat the Saints 31-21 as a 13.5-point underdog last Sunday. Now, with a little momentum at their backs, they’ll head to Arizona to take on a Cardinals team that is completely lost at the moment. With Sam Bradford (1,177 passing yards) expected to return from a high ankle sprain and Steven Jackson (449 rushing yards, 5 TDs) running like a man possessed, the Rams have a great opportunity to win back-to-back games for the first time all season.
ARIZONA: Even though they gave the Ravens all they could handle in Week 8, the Cardinals dropped their sixth game in a row last Sunday. The loss put Arizona’s record at 1-6 on the year, although the Cards did cover so they’re 3-4 against the spread. Kevin Kolb (1,706) hasn’t played like a quarterback that was worth a $65 million contract. The 27-year-old quarterback is also uncertain to play this Sunday after suffering a turf toe injury last weekend against the Steelers. If Kolb can’t play, backup John Skelton will start against St. Louis.
ODDS: Oddsmakers have installed the host Cardinals as 3-point favorites over the Rams, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 44 points. With the health status of Sam Bradford (high ankle sprain) and Kolb (turf toe) up in the air, the spread in this game could change dramatically leading up to kickoff.
TRENDS: The under is 6-0 in the last six meetings between these two teams and 6-1 in the last seven games in Arizona. The favorite is 6-1 against the number in the last seven meetings between these two teams while the Rams are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against the Cardinals.
