2011 NFL Network Thursday Night Football Week 11: Jets vs. Broncos Odds

Broncos vs. Jets Week 11 Odds

DENVER, CO (The Spread) – Tim Tebow will look to win his fourth start in five games when the Broncos host the Jets at 8:20PM ET tonight on the NFL Network.

NEW YORK: The Jets ran into a buzz saw last Sunday night when they took on the Patriots in East Rutherford. New England wasn’t planning on losing three in a row and it didn’t, crushing the Jets 37-16 as a 2.5-point underdog. That dropped the Jets’ record to 5-4 and allowed the Patriots to take sole possession of first place in the AFC East. The Jets are now 4-5 against the spread this season but are still 3-1 ATS in their last four games. Mark Sanchez’s inconsistency issues continue to plague the Jets, whose defense had been playing very well until last week.

DENVER: It’s rather amazing that Tim Tebow was the winning quarterback last week despite taking all of the snaps and completing just two passes. The Broncos’ 17-10 win over the Chiefs in Kansas City raised Denver’s record to 4-5 on the year and 4-5 against the spread. Tebow is now 3-1 as a starter, with only that ugly 45-10 beating he took against Detroit as his lone blemish in 2011. Eric Decker continues to be a star on the rise and now has a team-high eight touchdowns to go with his 462 receiving yards.

ODDS: Oddsmakers have installed the Jets as a 6-point favorite over the Broncos, while the over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 40 points. New York comes into this week with a 5-4 record overall and is 1-3 on the road, while Denver is 4-5 overall and 1-3 at home.

TRENDS: The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams in Denver but the over is 12-2 in the Broncos’ last 14 home games. The Jets are 4-1 against the spread versus a team with a losing record and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games as a road favorite, while the Broncos are 4-1 ATS in their last five games versus the AFC but 1-8-1 ATS in their last 10 games following an ATS win.
