NFL Week 14 Free Picks
(The Spread) – Check out our top picks for Week 14 in the NFL, including our prediction for the big Oakland-Green Bay game.
Following a successful Week 12 in which we finished 4-0 with our picks, we had another strong Sunday last week when we went 3-1. The Dolphins, Cardinals and Chiefs all covered while the Redskins were our only loss. That effort pushed our season record to 26-25-1 against the spread in 2011.
Falcons vs. Panthers, 1:00PM ET
The Falcons have some injury issues that Cam Newton and the Carolina offense can take advantage of. First and foremost, Pro Bowl cornerback Brent Grimes will miss another game with a knee injury and Kelvin Hayden is once again sidelined with a bad toe. That means inexperienced corners Dominique Franks and Christopher Owens will once again see extensive time in the Atlanta secondary. That could allow Newton and Co. to have a big day in the passing game and seeing as how the Falcon offense has been inconsistent all season, Carolina’s defense doesn’t have to play lights out for the Panthers to win this game outright.
NFL WEEK 14 FREE PICK: CAROLINA PANTHERS +1
It would figure that San Diego underachieves the entire year and then turns it on in the final month and winds up making a playoff push. Thus, bettors might as well take advantage of a Charger team that may turn it up in the upcoming weeks and at the very least, is confident coming off their blowout win over the Jaguars on Monday. According to latest NFL trends, the home team is 4-0 against the spread in the last four meetings between these two teams while the Bills are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against the AFC.
NFL WEEK 14 FREE PICK: SAN DIEGO CHARGERS –7.5
Buccaneers vs. Jaguars, 1:00PM ET
Neither of these teams have any explosion offensively but Jacksonville is extremely limited offensively because of rookie Blaine Gabbert. At least the Bucs have the potential to score in the 20s if they’re on; I don’t know if anyone can say the same about a Jaguar team that has a hard time reaching double digits. Jacksonville is just 1-4 against the number in its last five home games and 1-5 ATS in its last six games as a home underdog. The Jaguars are also 1-5 ATS versus a team with a losing record and 0-3-1 ATS in their lat four games as an underdog.
NFL WEEK 14 FREE PICK: BUCCANEERS –3
Raiders vs. Packers, 4:15PM ET
The Raiders are fighting for their playoff lives and realize that the Broncos have a huge opportunity to take sole possession of first place in the AFC West with a win over the banged up Bears today. Thus, we should see Oakland’s best effort in Green Bay and even though the Packers have been a juggernaut this season their defense should allow the Raiders to keep things close. Oakland is 6-1 against the spread in its lat seven road games and 6-1 ATS in its last seven games as a road underdog.
