2011 NFL Free Picks & Predictions for Week 12

NFL Week 12 Free Picks

(The Spread) – A couple of road dogs caught our eye in two divisional matchups this week. Read on to check out our top 4 plays for Week 12 in the NFL.

Our rough NFL season continued last week with a 1-3 Sunday. Only the Raiders covered, while the Panthers blew a 27-7 lead to the Lions, the Packers couldn’t blowout the Bucs as a 14-point favorite and the Bills failed to show up in Miami. That drops us to 19-24-1 on the year. Fade at will if you so desire.

Vikings vs. Falcons, 1:00PM ET

Without Adrian Peterson the Vikings will have a hard time moving the ball against an Atlanta defense that has been vastly underrated over the past month. Christian Ponder has given Minnesota’s offense a punch in the air since taking over for Donovan McNabb but he’s turning the ball over multiple times a game. The Falcons struggled in the red zone last week but their no-huddle offense looked very good, as Matt Ryan threw for over 300 yards, Michael Turner rushed for 100 and Roddy White broke out with a seven-catch, 147-yard performance. I don’t know if they’ll go back to their no-huddle on an exclusive basis, but either way they shouldn’t have much trouble scoring on a hapless Vikings secondary.

NFL WEEK 12 FREE PICK: ATLANTA FALCONS –9.5

Browns vs. Bengals, 1:00PM ET

This is a letdown game for the Bengals, who are coming off losses against physical teams like the Steelers and Ravens, and who have a trip to Pittsburgh coming up next Sunday. It’ll be easy for Cincinnati to overlook a team in Cleveland, which doesn’t have much life offensively but defensively has actually played pretty well this season. Divisional games are usually tight and I don’t expect this one to be any different.

NFL WEEK 12 FREE PICK: CLEVELAND BROWNS +7.5

Panthers vs. Colts, 1:00PM ET

The Panthers have yet to win on the road this year but they should change their misfortunate this week against a bad Indianapolis team. The Colts have had trouble generating points all season with Curtis Painter under center and while Carolina’s defense is highly suspect, Indy will have trouble matching scores with Cam Newton. According to latest NFL trends, the Panthers are 6-0 against the spread in their last six games as a road favorite while the Colts are 1-6 ATS in their last seven home games.

NFL WEEK 12 FREE PICK: CAROLINA PANTHERS –3.5

Broncos vs. Chargers, 4:15PM ET

Six points is a lot to lay on a San Diego team that hasn’t won a game in over a month. Denver’s defense could give Philip Rivers fits and while Tim Tebow continues to struggle as a passer, he has shown a knack for bringing teams back in the fourth quarter. The Broncos are 4-0 against the spread in their last four games versus the AFC and 4-1 ATS in their last five road games. The Chargers, meanwhile, are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 0-5 ATS in their last five games overall.

NFL WEEK 12 FREE PICK: DENVER BRONCOS +6
