Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez has been given over/under odds of 1.5 touchdown passes for the game. Sanchez has thrown for 20 touchdown passes over 18 games including three last week in the win over the Patriots. Sanchez was held without a passing touchdown against the Colts and also didn’t throw for a touchdown against the Steelers in Week 15.
Braylon Edwards has been given over/under odds of 53.5 receiving yards for the game. Edwards is averaging 56.5 receiving yards per game this season and in the playoffs he had 114 yards through two games. Against Pittsburgh in Week 15, Edwards caught 8 passes for 100 yards.
For the Steelers, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been given over/under odds of 250.5 passing yards for the game. Big Ben is averaging 266.7 passing yards per game and he threw for 264 yards against the Jets in Week 15. New York is giving up just 200.6 passing yards per game on the season, which ranks sixth in the NFL.
Pittsburgh running back Rashard Mendenhall has been given odds of -155 to score a touchdown in the game and odds of +125 to not score. Mendenhall had 13 rushing touchdowns in the regular season and scored twice in the win over Baltimore. In his first meeting with the Jets, Mendenhall rushed for 99 yards and one touchdown. A lot of his ability to score depends a lot on chance and field position, but Mendenhall has had a nose for the end zone.
