Super Bowl XLIV Trends
BroburySports.com is getting you ready for the 2010 Super Bowl (which is just three days away!) with some of the latest trends. Check it out.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com currently has the Indianapolis Colts listed as 4.5-point favorites over the New Orleans Saints in Super Bowl XLIV. The over/under total for the game is currently resting at 56.5.
Watch out for the NFC
The AFC gets a lot of positive press, winning five of the last six Super Bowls. The top-3 teams of the decade are the AFC’s New England, Indianapolis and Pittsburgh (not necessarily in that order).
However, the NFC has quietly gone 5-2 ATS the last seven Super Bowls. The Giants pulled off the huge upset two years ago, and Arizona came close last year, still getting the ‘cover.’
Can the Saints keep this trend going and shock the world?
The Manning factor
Manning is the regular season MVP, and pundits are ready to anoint him ahead of Joe Montana for ‘Greatest of All-Time’ if he wins this game.
Bettors will want to note that Indy is 7-0 ATS in the last seven games where Manning played the whole contest. That doesn’t include Week 16 and 17 when he was pulled early.
Over / Under Trends
New Orleans has gone ‘over’ the total in its two playoffs games. The ‘under’ was 7-1-1 for the Saints to end the regular season.
The ‘over’ is 5-1 for Indianapolis in its last six games. The only game that went ‘under’ was the 20-3 divisional round win over Baltimore.
The total for the Super Bowl started out at a high 56 ½-points, but it’s even higher now at 57.
