Top 5 Public Favorites:

1.       New England Patriots -3.5 83% (37,468)

2.       New Orleans Saints -6.5 81% (30,408)

3.       New York Jets -4.5 74% (29,256)

4.       New York Giants -7 73% (18,783)

5.       Indianapolis Colts +3 71% (40,437)

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Patriots 3.5-point favorites over the Browns. The line has actually dropped from 4.5 to 3.5, which is strange seeing as how the public is all over the Pats. Either way, it’s no surprise that the public is all over a 6-1 team that’s only giving up 3.5 against a lowly Browns squad.

The Saints have had issues against the Panthers over the years but clearly that hasn’t deterred the public from backing them on Sunday. Carolina has been brutal and with the Saints coming off a big win against the Steelers, it’s clear why the public favors New Orleans – especially seeing as how a touchdown covers.

The Lions have played well all season and the Jets are coming off an embarrassing 9-0 loss to the Packers last Sunday at home. But the public is still backing gang green this week with the Jets only laying 4.5 points. With Matthew Stafford back under center, one would think that Detroit would give New York a game but maybe the Jets get back on track.

It’s not hard to see why the public likes the Giants with Charlie Whitehurst starting for the injured Matt Hasselbeck in Seattle. The Seahawks have been outstanding at home this year (and most years), but Whitehurst is an unknown and New York’s pass rush has been outstanding of late. It could be a long day for the Seattle backup.

Nobody has to twist the public’s arm to back the Colts – especially when they’re getting points. That said, Indy’s only two losses have come on the road this year and Philadelphia is always a tough environment to play in. With Michael Vick back under center, the Eagles won’t be a push over. If they can run the ball, they could definitely scoop up a big win at home against the defending AFC champs.
