NFL Week 16 Injury Report
(TheSpread) – There are several key injuries that will certainly have an affect on Sunday’s games in the NFL. Read our 2010 NFL Week 16 Injury Report to find out which games could be affected today.
Great news for the Indianapolis Colts as they get ready for their important matchup in Oakland on Sunday. Running back Joseph Addai (neck) practiced fully this week and is expected to play against hte Raiders. But it’s important to remember that he hasn’t played in two months so who knows what kind of playing shape he’s in. Expect Donald Brown to be in the mix and for Addai to maybe see half the carries he normally would. Either way, it’s good news for the Colts that their starting running back is back.
The Chargers will be missing a pair of recieving threats today against the Bengals. The team has listed Marlcom Floyd (hamstrings) as doubtful and tight end Antonio Gates (foot, toe) as out. Vincent Jackson and Legedu Naanee will start at the two reciever spots, while Randy McMichael will start at tight end. According to current NFL odds and oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com, the Chargers are 9-point favorites over the Bengals.
Running back Knowshon Moreno is questionable for the Broncos’ game with the Texans. He’s dealing with a ribs injury and was limited in practice on Thursday and Friday. It appears as though he’s headed for a game-time decision.
Speaking of the Broncos-Texans game, Andre Johnson will probably miss the game with an ankle injury. Johnson said he would test the injury in pregame warmups but he hasn’t sounded optimistic. Jacoby Jones would start in Johnson’s place if he couldn’t go.
It’s looking good that the Vikings will have Adrian Peterson for their Sunday Night Football tilt against the Eagles. Peterson practiced on Thursday and Friday and his knee/thigh held up. The Eagles are 14-point favorites over the Vikings.
Big news out of Jacksonville as it looks like the Jaguars won’t activate Maurice Jones-Drew (knee) for thier crucial game against the Jaguars. MJD’s knee is still swallen, so the team wants to give him time to heel. Rashad Jennings will start in his place against a horrendous Washington team, so maybe the Jags’ running game won’t miss a beat. In other Jaguar-related news, Mike Sims-Walker (questionable, ankle) will not start on Sunday. (Jason Hill will get the nod instead.)
Barring a setback, the Jets will have quarterback Mark Sanchez (shoulder) for their big game against the Bears in Chicago. Sanchez practiced on Friday and was handling first-team reps, so he should go. The Jets are 1-point underdogs against the Bears.
The Lions could have Shaun Hill back for their game against the Dolphins. Drew Stanton saw some first-team reps in practice as well, just in case Hill couldn’t go.Detroit is a 3.5-point underdog at Miami.
