Giants vs. Vikings Odds

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (TheSpread) – The Minnesota Vikings look to continue their winning streak when they “host” the New York Giants on Monday in the NFL from Ford Field in Detroit.

Minnesota is 5-7 on the year and 4-2 at home while the Giants are 8-4 overall and 3-2 on the road. Trends show that the Giants are 4-1 against the spread in their last 5 games in Minnesota while the road team has covered the odds in 6 of the last 7 meetings between these two teams. The total has went over in 8 of the last 10 games for the Giants after a straight up win.

Despite being a home game for the Vikings, this game will be played at Ford Field in Detroit as the Metrodome roof collapsed and has forced this game to Detroit.

Oddsmakers from online sportsbook SBGGLOBAL.com have released their odds for this game and given the Giants a -3 point spread against Minnesota. The over/under total has been set at 43.5. (View Matchup)

Opening odds had New York with a -2.5 point spread. The odds have since increased to 4 points after all the chaos from moving the game to Detroit. The over/under total opened at 43 points and has since added ½ a point.

The Vikings are just 4-8 against the spread this season and they have hit the over total 6 times and the under 6 times on the year. The Vikings have won their two games under interim coach Leslie Frazier as they have held their last two opponents to 14 points or less. The Vikings are posting just 337.8 yards per game on offense, but their running game has been steady behind the legs of Adrian Peterson, who has rushed for 1,123 yards and 11 touchdowns on the season.

New York is 6-6 against the spread this season and they have went over the point total in 7 of 12 games. The Giants have won their last two games, scoring a combined 55 points in the victories. The Giants are averaging 384.6 yards per game on offense and that includes 241.7 passing yards per contest. Eli Manning has thrown for 2,982 yards and 23 touchdowns to lead the team while Ahmad Bradshaw has rushed for 1,013 yards and seven scores.

In terms of injuries, Brett Favre is questionable to start Monday night because of a shoulder injury suffered last week. Tavaris Jackson would get the start in Favre’s absence. Favre’s playing ability could affect the odds just prior to kickoff. New York guard Shawn Andrews is doubtful to play on Monday because of a back injury.

Over 19,200 public bets have been placed on this game and New York is getting 75% of the wagers with -4 point spread odds against the Vikings on Monday.
