TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) – Florida State’s try for another perfect season crashed in the Rose Bowl.
The Seminoles won a school-record 29 consecutive games, including three ACC championships, and Jameis Winston won the Heisman last year while helping FSU to the national title. But their impressive run came to an end when they struggled in the second half of a 59-20 loss to Oregon on Thursday.
A season full of comebacks and narrow victories caught up to the Seminoles.
Coach Jimbo Fisher and his players embraced the personality of a never-give-up team that always found a way to win despite adversity in 2014. That guile wasn’t enough when five second-half turnovers doomed the Seminoles in the College Football Playoffs semifinal.
