VA Tech struggling to cover in September
The month of September has not been kind to bettors that have backed Virginia Tech, which hosts Ohio State tonight at 8:00PM ET.

The Hokies are just 3-12-1 against the spread in their last 16 games played in the month of September. They’re also 2-5 at the betting window in their last seven home games, 13-27-1 ATS in their last 41 games played on grass and 5-13-2 ATS in their last 20 non-conference games.
That said, VA Tech still has somewhat of a mental advantage over Ohio State if you consider what happened in Columbus last year. The Hokies handed the Buckeyes what turned out to be their only loss to the 2014-15 season, a 35-21 triumph at Ohio Stadium.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, VA Tech is a 14-point underdog versus OSU for tonight’s game while the total is sitting at 53 points. The Buckeyes had opened as 12.5-point favorites before the line jumped.
