HONOLULU, HI (The Spread) – Rice and Fresno State will play under the sunny skies of Hawaii tonight at 8PM ET for the 2014 Hawaii Bowl.

Rice went 7-5 this season and 5-3 in Conference USA, but the Owls dropped two of their last three games to end the season. Rice went 8-4 against the spread this season and their last 10 games against the spread have matched their outright results. Rice has hit the under in three of their last four games.

Fresno State went 6-7 on the season, but qualified for a bowl by being 6-6 prior to the Mountain West championship game, where it lost to Boise State. The Bulldogs ended up 5-3 in the MWC and were 7-6 against the spread on the year. Fresno has covered the spread in three of its last four and hit the under in three straight games.

These two are meeting for the first time since 2004. This game will likely produce a lot of points, as Rice is giving up 30.3 points per contest, while Fresno State is giving up 32.6 points per game. Fresno State has the better offense on paper and a balanced attack with Brian Burrell having thrown for 2,576 yards and 22 touchdowns while Marteze Waller has thrown for 1,292 yards and 11 touchdowns.
