Will Alabama steamroll Ole Miss tonight when the SEC foes meet at 9:00PME T in Tuscaloosa?
Who: Ole Miss (2-1) at Alabama (4-0)
When: 9:00PM ET, Saturday, September 30
Where: Bryant-Denny Stadium, Tuscaloosa, AL
Current Point Spread & Over/Under Total
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Crimson Tide are 28-point home favorites versus the Rebels, who opened as 28-point underdogs. As for the total, the number hit the board at 59 but has dropped a full two points to 57.
Ole Miss Betting Trends
The Rebels are 1-5 against the spread in their last six road games, is 0-5 against the number in their last five games overall, and 2-6 at the betting window in their last eight games in September. Ole Miss has also failed to cover the number in its last 12 road games versus a team with a winning home record.
Alabama Betting Trends
The Crimson Tide are 7-1 against the spread in their last eight conference games, is 15-7 at the betting window in their last 22 games when playing a team with a winning record and is 11-4 ATS in its last 15 games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game. That said, ‘Bama is just 1-5 against the spread in its last six home games versus Ole Miss. The Rebels are also 4-1 at the betting window in their last five games versus the Tide overall.
OUR PREDICTION: Ole Miss has hung with Alabama in recent years but I think the talent gap has widen significantly over the past year. The Crimson Tide just rushed for 496 yards against a good Vanderbilt defense last week on the road and will now faces a Rebels run defense that has allowed 184.0 rushing yards a game this season (96th in the nation) at home. Ole Miss has an excellent passing game but the Rebels are also one-dimensional. If ‘Bama gets to Shea Patterson consistently, things could get ugly tonight.
