Famous Idaho Potato Bowl Prediction
Will Colorado State rack up enough points tonight to beat Idaho and cover as a double-digit favorite in tonight’s Famous Idaho Potato Bowl?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Rams are now 15-point favorites over the Vandals after opening as a 13-point favorite when the bowl spreads were first posted. As for the total, the number hit the board at 64 but has been bet up a full point to 65 at the majority of sports books.
IDAHO KEY TRENDS: The Vandals are a perfect 7-0 against the spread in their last seven games overall, are 5-0 against the number in their lat five games following a win, and have covered in seven of their last 10 games after allowing less than 20 points in their previous game. That said, they’re just 7-18-1 at the betting window in their last 26 games when playing an opponent with a winning record.
COLORADO STATE KEY TRENDS: The Rams are 14-3-1 against the spread in their last 18 non-conference games, are 13-3 against the number in their last 16 games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous game and are 8-0 at the betting window in their last eight games versus a team with a winning record. They’re 34-16-1 against the spread in their last 51 games overall as well.
OUR PREDICTION: The Rams were hot down the stretch, winning four of their last five games, which included a 63-point performance over San Diego State. Their offense was unstoppable at times this season thanks to Nick Stevens, who stepped up when freshman Collin Hill was lost to a torn ACL in his left knee in October. Michael Gallup is also a headache for defenses, as he racked up 70 catches for 1,164 yards this season. Idaho allowed 269.6 passing yards per game this season, which ranked 110th in the nation. The Vandals are going to struggle to slow down this Rams passing attack tonight.
