The Akron Zips will take on the Utah State Aggies in the 2015 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl at 3:30PM ET in what should be a low-scoring affair.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the Aggies are 7.5-point favorites over the Zips for today’s game. The total, meanwhile, has been bet down to 46.5 points after it opened at 49.
There’s good reason why the total has been bet down nearly full three points from the opening number. Both offenses struggled to move the ball this season while each teams’ defense has excellent in one key area.
For the Zips, they ranked 97th in the nation in total yards per game this season (364.5), 98th in passing yards (193.8), and 100th in scoring (24.0 PPG). But they had the No. 3-rated defense in college football against the run, holding opponents to just 89.8 yards on the ground.
As for the Aggies, they posted similar numbers offensively this season, ranking 91st in total yards (370.8), 88th in passing yards (202.9), and 61st in points (29.7). Conversely, they ranked 22nd in total yards surrendered (336.7 per game) and 14th in passing yards allowed (180.3).
This won’t be a fun game to watch if you’re a fan of offenses. Neither team is expected to move the ball in what will be 38 degree weather with a chance of light snow and 40% precipitation. As long as there isn’t a bunch of turnovers and fluke plays, the under should cash for bettors after five of the first six bowl games all went over the total.
