Golson heading to FSU
TALLAHAASSE, FL (TheSpread) – Florida State may have found its quarterback to replace Jameis Winston, as Everett Golson has elected to play his senior season with the Seminoles.
Just about a week ago, Golson elected to transfer out of Notre Dame following his graduation. He has one year of eligibility left that he can now use at FSU and use for the 2015 season.
“After much thought and careful consideration, I will utilize my fifth year of eligibility to join the Florida State University Seminoles,” Golson said in a statement Tuesday. “To Coach Jimbo Fisher, the Florida State football team, staff, alumni and fans, thank you for allowing me to become part of the Seminoles family. I can’t wait to get started. Go Noles!”
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Florida State is currently listed with 12/1 odds to win the 2016 College Football Playoffs. Ohio State is the favorite with 7/2 odds while Alabama has 7/1 odds and TCU is listed at 10/1.

Golson led the Notre Dame to the BCS Championship Game as a freshmen, when he threw for 2,405 yards with 12 touchdowns. However, he missed his sophomore season to do a suspension for academic fraud. He returned last season and threw for 3,445 yards with 29 touchdowns, but also had 14 interceptions. Golson could fill the void left by Winston, who entered the NFL Draft after his redshirt sophomore season.
