According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Aggies are now 25.5-point home underdogs versus the Crimson Tide after opening as a 24.5-point dog. As for the total, the number currently sits at 55 after hitting the board at 58.5.
Texas A&M Betting Trends
The Aggies are 1-6-1 against the spread in their last eight home games, are 3-10-1 against the number in their last 14 games overall, and are 9-23-1 against the spread in their last 33 conference games. They’re also 16-34-1 at the betting window in their last 51 games versus a team with a winning record.
Alabama Betting Trends
The Crimson Tide are 12-2 against the spread in their last 14 road games, are 8-1 against the number in their last nine conference games and are 16-7 at the betting window versus a team with a winning record. ‘Bama is also 10-3 against the spread in its last 13 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in its previous game.
Our Prediction: With so much attention being paid to upstart Georgia and the mess that is LSU, Alabama somehow is flying under the radar (or at least it feels that way). But the Crimson Tide are already in late-season form, as quarterback Jalen Hurts has thrown 169 passes without an interception and leads the team with 461 rushing yards. The Tide offense appears to be coming together at a perfect time and even though A&M has found something in freshman quarterback Kellen Mond, the youngster will be going against one of the toughest defenses in the nation. Alabama has swallowed by more experienced quarterbacks than Mond this season (i.e. FSU’s Deondre Francois and Vanderbilt’s Kyle Shurmur) and thus, I’m rolling with the Tide.
