C. Michigan vs. W. Michigan Pick

Central Michigan and Western Michigan add another chapter to their rivalry tonight when they meet up at 8PM ET.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Western Michigan is favored at home, as they are getting odds of -3.5 points against Central Michigan. The over/under total for this contest has been set at 47 points. Western Michigan has won three straight meetings with CMU and five of the last six in this series. WMU is also 4-2 ATS in the last six meetings. The public is currently putting 64 percent of the wagers on Western Michigan at home. Tonight’s contest takes place from Waldo Stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The game will air live on ESPN2.

Central Michigan is coming off a 56-9 win at Ball State on Oct. 21 to improve to 4-4 on the season and 2-2 in the MAC. The Chippewas are just 3-5 against the spread this season, with all three covers coming on the road. CMU is putting up 25.8 points and 391 yards per game this season. Shane Morris has thrown for 1,966 yards and 16 touchdowns this year, but also has 11 interceptions. Mark Chapman is the leading receiver with 43 catches for 590 yards and three touchdowns. Jonathan Ward is the leading rusher with 460 yards and four scores. Defensively, CMU is allowing 27 points and 387.6 yards per game. Their run defense is allowing 192.1 yards per contest.

Western Michigan is coming off a 20-17 OT win at Eastern Michigan on Oct. 21. The Broncos are now 5-3 on the season and 3-1 in the MAC. WMU has a 3-5 record against the spread as well this season while going just 1-3 ATS at home. Western Michigan is putting up 36.8 points and 416.6 yards per game on offense this year. Jon Wassink has thrown for 1,391 yards and 14 touchdowns this year, but suffered a broken collarbone in the last game and is done for the year. Reece Goddard will step in for Wassink going forward, but he has just three pass attempts this year. Jarvion Franklin has run for 642 yards and seven touchdowns while Jamauri Bogan has 536 yards and two scores on the ground. WMU is allowing 27.6 points and 385.9 yards per game on defense.

Bet on Central Michigan vs. Western Michigan

Western Michigan has dominated this series lately, but they have a big question mark at QB tonight. We don’t know what we can expect from Goddard, but we do know that CMU can focus on stopping the WMU run game and force Goddard to beat them with his arm. The Western defense isn’t as strong as it has been in previous seasons, so I think CMU has the ability to score points and move the ball consistently. I give the edge to the Chippewas in this one tonight.
