The Odds
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the Horned Frogs are 1.5-point home underdogs over the Bears while the total currently sits at 74.5 points.
The Records
Baylor enters play with a 9-1 record and is 5-4-1 against the spread in its last 10 games. As for TCU, the Horned Frogs are 9-2 on the season but just 5-5 against the number in their last 10 games.
The Pick
Baylor is down to its third-string quarterback in sophomore Chris Johnson due to the injuries suffered by Seth Russell and Jarrett Stidham. Johnson will make his first career start after throwing for 138 yards and two touchdowns in last week’s win over Oklahoma State. The only team more banged up than Baylor is TCU, which is without receiver Josh Doctson, senior center Joey Hunt and senior guard Jamelle Naff. Quarterback Trevone Boykin is also questionable with an ankle injury after not playing last week in the 30-29 loss to Oklahoma. Despite being down to their third-string QB, Baylor’s system under Art Briles can suffer injuries under center and still be productive. With TCU being banged up on both sides of the ball, it’ll be difficult for the Horned Frogs to keep pace.
