TCU Sizeable Favorites Saturday
The featured game of Saturday night has No. 6 TCU taking on Oregon State at Cowboys Stadium at 7:45PM ET.
This is the first meeting between these two teams and the Horned Frogs are just 9-11 against Pac-10 opponents, but 9-2 against BCS Conference opponents. Oregon State is 24-18-1 all-time against Mountain West opponents.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com currently list TCU as 13.5-point favorites against Oregon State. The over/under has been set at 49.5.
TCU went 12-1 last season, losing to Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl to end the year. The Horned Frogs posted 38.3 points and 457 yards per-game on offense while limiting opponents to just 12.8 points and 240 yards per-game. TCU has 18 starters back this season including three running backs that totaled over 1,800 yards and quarterback Andy Dalton, who threw for 2,756 yards and 23 touchdowns. On defense, seven starters are back, but the Horned Frogs lose their leading tackler and leading sack man from last season.
Oregon State went 8-5 last season for its fourth-straight season with at least eight wins. Mike Riley has got a solid team this season, with 17 starters returning. The team is led by running back Jacquizz Rodgers, who accounted for 1,966 yards of offense and 22 touchdowns last season. The Beavers posted 31.5 points and 411 yards per-game while allowing 25 points and 349 yards per-game on defense. Three starters on back in the secondary while three starters also return on the defensive line.
