Alabama dismisses Taylor
TUSCALOOSA, AL (TheSpread) – Alabama has elected to dismiss Jonathan Taylor from their program after a recent arrest. What does it mean for the Crimson Tide?
The defensive lineman was arrested again on a domestic violence charge in the home of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. Head coach Nick Saban issued a statement on the matter.
“This will still need to go through the legal process, but when he was given an opportunity here, it was under strict guidelines and we made it clear there was a zero-tolerance policy,” Saban said.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Alabama is currently listed with 7/1 odds to win the 2016 College Football Playoffs. Only Ohio State has shorter odds, as they are listed at 4/1. TCU is third in the list with 9/1 odds.

Taylor had a history of arrests when he was at Georgia last year. He was arrested last July after being arrested on felony aggravated assault and family violence. That got him booted from the Bulldogs. He then took a chance with Alabama, but as Saban said, he had a zero-tolerance policy that he wasn’t able to fulfill. Taylor had only been with the team for a few months when the arrest occurred.
