CMU vs. Michigan St. Odds
No. 2 Michigan State hopes to avoid a slip up when it hosts in-state foe Central Michigan this Saturday at Noon ET on the Big Ten Network.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Michigan State is the clear favorite in this game, as the Spartans are getting odds of -26.5 points against the Chippewas. The over/under total for the game has been set at 54 points. MSU has won and covered the spread in its last two meetings with CMU, but the Chippewas have actually beaten the Spartans three times in program history.
Michigan State is 3-0 on the season, but 0-3 against the spread and 2-1 with the over. The Spartans were expected to have a potent offense this year, but they are averaging just 388.3 yards per game. The defense is struggling a bit too, allowing 414.3 yards per contest. Connor Cook has thrown for 695 yards and eight touchdowns to lead the offense while Aaron Burbridge has 20 catches for 374 yards and four scores. Madre London and LJ Scott have combined for 378 rushing yards and four touchdowns.
Central Michigan is 1-2 on the season, 3-0 against the spread and 2-1 with the under. The Chippewas have had their losses come against Oklahoma State and Syracuse this season. CMU is averaging 425 yards per game on offense while giving up just 308.7 yards per game. Quarterback Cooper Rush is leading the team with 983 passing yards and five touchdowns while Ben McCord has 16 catches for 306 yards and two scores.
