Currently over 34,300 Public Bets have been placed on this game and Oregon is getting 56% of the wagers with odds of -5 points against Wisconsin. When the game was first announced, Oregon was listed as a 5.5-point favorite against Wisconsin. The spread quickly jumped up to 7 points before starting to make its way down. The lowest the spread got was 4.5 points in mid-December, but it has now held strong at 5 points in favor of the Ducks.
Oregon is 6-5-2 against the spread this season and 3-0 against the spread on grass. The Ducks have been favored in every game this season but three of their failed covers came with point spread of 31 points or more. With a spread of 5 points or less, Oregon is 1-1 against the spread. The public probably likes the scoring of Oregon, as they average 46.2 points per game and have a lot of team speed.
Wisconsin was 7-5-1 against the spread this season but 0-4 against the spread on the road. The Badgers are 1-1 against the spread on grass this year as well. Like Oregon, Wisconsin has been favored in every game this season but they failed to cover the spread in five of their last seven games. Actually, in spreads that were 10 points or below, Wisconsin failed to cover in all three contests. Wisconsin is averaging 44.6 points per game and allowing just 17 points per game on defense. Despite that, the Big Ten still has a lot to prove in the publicβs eye, which is why the Badgers may not be getting the publicβs respect.
