According to oddsmakers from Bodog, Virginia Tech has 10/11 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Miami (3/2) and North Carolina (2/1).
Virginia Tech is the defending ACC Champion and the Hokies have won the Coastal Division four times in six years. Virginia Tech is in its 25th season with Frank Beamer, and he returns 12 starters this season. The Hokies do lose their leading rusher, passer, and sacker.
Miami has never won the Coastal Division in franchise history. The Hurricanes were 7-6 last season and 5-3 in ACC play. Miami let go of Randy Shannon after 2010 and hired Temple coach, Al Golden, who is just 27-34 in his coaching career. Golden will have 14 starters back this season, including quarterback Jacory Harris, who has been off-and-on in terms of his play for Miami.
North Carolina has never won the divisional title in program history. The Tar Heels were 8-5 last season and 4-4 in the ACC despite losing a number of key players to suspension. This season, fifth-year coach Butch Davis returns 15 starters, including leading receiver, Dwight Jones. Jones caught 62 passes for 946 yards and four touchdowns in 2010.
