The eighth week of the 2009 College Football Season doesn’t have quite the star power of prior weeks, but should still provide plenty of exciting finishes.

The big game in week eight of college football is between Big Ten rivals in Michigan and Penn State. The Nittany Lions travel to Ann Arbor for the game and oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL have made the Nittany Lions 4.5-point favorites on the road against the Wolverines. Penn State has been rolling since losing to Iowa on Sept. 26. The Nittany Lions have won their last three games by a combined score of 107-20, including a 20-0 win over Minnesota. Michigan is 5-0 at home this year with a 63-6 win last week against Delaware State, where the Wolverines rushed for 461 yards as a team.
Another key game on Saturday is in the SEC, when the new No. 1 ranked team in the nation, Alabama, hosts Tennessee for a game with the Volunteers. The Crimson Tide are 16.5-point home favorites over Tennessee. Alabama has been led by its defense all season, allowing just 11.5 points per-game to its opponents. Tennessee is coming off a bye week after beating Georgia two weeks ago 45-19 for its biggest win under new coach Lane Kiffin.
In the Big XII Conference, Missouri hosts Texas this week with the Longhorns 13.5-point road favorites. The Tigers are coming off back-to-back losses against ranked opponents, while Texas is coming off a 16-13 win over Oklahoma in the Red River Shootout.
