The 12^th week of the 2009 College Football Season doesn’t have a lot of notable games, but plenty of intriguing betting options.

Ohio
State has won five straight games in this series and

Michigan continues to garner low point spreads because of its history as opposed to its performance on the field. The Wolverines have been terrible on defense, so the Buckeyes shouldn’t have a problem moving the ball, and

State’s physical defense should be enough to slow down the

Michigan running game. With the spread less than two touchdowns,

State seems like a lock.

Syracuse, 3:30PM ET

Rutgers is one of the hottest teams in the country right now, having won three straight and seven of its last eight. The

Orange have lost five of their last six and only covered in two of their last seven.

Syracuse has lost its last three conference home games by at least 14 points. The Knights have a powerful and physical football team on both sides of the ball that should keep this game in control from the opening kickoff. The

Orange just don’t have the talent to keep this game within 10 points or less.

Houston, 1PM ET

Houston has struggled with

high point spreads this year because of its poor defense. The Cougars have no issue scoring, but just can’t stop anyone. Saturday’s spread is the largest the Cougars have had despite the fact that
Memphis is 6-4 against the spread against

Houston in the last 10 meetings. The Tigers have a strong running game that can slow down the pace of play and keep

Houston’s offense off the field enough to cover the lofty spread on Saturday.

Connecticut +6 at Notre Dame, 2:30PM ET

Notre Dame doesn’t have much to play for this season after losing back-to-back games, and even if the Irish do want to rally for coach Charlie Weis, the team just isn’t that good. Notre Dame has had eight games decided by seven points or less this season, and struggled against physical football teams that look to run the ball.

Connecticut has lost three straight by four points or less after the tragic death of one of their players. Now, the Huskies know that this game is their bowl game and will go all out looking to top Notre Dame. The Huskies are a running team that have stayed close to their opponents all year. Look for them to do the same on Saturday.
