UCF keeps rolling
Central Florida opened its 2019 season with a 62-0 win over Florida A&M on Thursday night. The Knights covered a big 44-point spread in the victory while going under the 66-point total.
It would be hard for anyone to have a more lopsided win than what UCF had last week. The Knights put up 694 yards of offense while holding the Rattlers to just 96 total yards and only four rushing yards. The team debuted new QB Brandon Wimbush and he threw for 168 yards and two touchdowns in limited action. Adrian Killins Jr. led the team with 106 rushing yards and a touchdown while Gabriel Davis had three catches for 68 yards and two scores.
FAU covers at Ohio State
Florida Atlantic opened its season with a 45-21 loss at Ohio State on Saturday. The Owls were able to cover a 27-point spread in the loss while pushing the 66-point total.
Ohio State took a 28-0 lead over FAU in just a matter of eight minutes on Saturday, but the Owls regrouped from there and outscored the Buckeyes 21-17 over the final three quarters of play. FAU gave up 469 yards to the Buckeyes while putting up just 228 yards of their own. The Owls had just 22 rushing yards. Quarterback Chris Robison threw for 178 yards and a touchdown to lead the offense while Harrison Bryant caught six passes for 79 yards.
College Football Betting Trends
UCF
The Knights have hit the under in four straight against a team with a losing record, but have hit the over in 11 of their last 14 against CUSA opponents.
Florida Atlantic
FAU has hit the under in six of their last eight home games and in seven of their last nine following a loss.
Prediction:
The total is set high here for UCF’s offensive potential, but the Knights should meet a little resistance against the Owls on the road. However, these two scored 92 points in last year’s meeting in Orlando. UCF has big-scoring ability and the Owls showed that they will give up big plays last week. FAU has some ability to move the ball and the Owls shouldn’t start so slowly on offense this week. UCF’s defense isn’t as strong as it showed last weekend. I think these two will have another big scoring game, but probably not the 92-point shootout it had last year.
College Football Week 2 Prediction: UCF/Florida Atlantic Over 68
