Ausar Explodes for 26 vs. BYU

Ezra Ausar closed with 26 points (11-15 FG, 4-8 FT), six rebounds, two assists and two steals over 31 minutes during Saturday’s 73-72 OT win over BYU. Ausar played a season-high 31 minutes and shot 11-for-15 from the floor en route to a massive 26-point performance during Saturday’s one-point victory. The junior forward added six rebounds and two steals while topping 20 points for the second time in three games. Ausar transferred in this season from East Carolina and is posting similar numbers despite seeing more than six fewer minutes on the floor this season, averaging 11.2 points and 4.7 rebounds across 19.9 minutes of action.

Francis double-double off bench

Ja’Vier Francis supplied 16 points (5-6 FG, 6-6 FT), 10 rebounds and one block over 25 minutes during Saturday’s 69-68 victory over UCF. Francis came off the bench to contribute his initial double-double of the season, posting season-best marks in both scoring and rebounding. It was the first time the reserve forward has achieved the feat since December 2022. Francis also saw a season-high 25 minutes while starting forward Joseph Tugler got in early foul trouble and only played 12 minutes. After starting every game last season, Francis has seen a production dip this season and was moved to the bench after making six starts. However, over the last three games he’s had his two most productive performances of the season and could continue to see his role increase as the season wears on.

Utah vs. Houston CBB Prediction:

Take the under. In the Utes’ last 10 games, the under is 8-2. In fact, the Utes cashed only one over ticket since December 31. That’s a span of six games. On the other side, the under hit in seven out of Houston’s last 10 games. That includes winning under tickets in three out of their last four contests.

Utah vs. Houston Hoops Prediction: UNDER 135
