The 21st-ranked Tennessee Volunteers have a tough test on tap tonight as they are slight favorites at the Cincinnati Bearcats. Will Tennessee get it done in the uninviting environment?

Vols fall to Tigers
Tennessee lost 51-47 at home Saturday against Memphis to drop to 7-2 overall and 5-1 at home. The Volunteers were outscored 26-23 in the second half to lead to the defeat. Josiah-Jordan James paced Tennessee with 14 points on 4-of-11 shooting including 3-of-6 from 3-point range plus 3-of-4 at the free throw line. He also registered five rebounds and three steals. John Fulkerson added nine points, seven boards, three assists, three blocked shots and two steals.
Bearcats stumble against Raiders
Cincinnati could not hold onto a second-half lead Saturday night as it lost 67-66 at home against Colgate. The Bearcats were outscored 32-24 in the second half of the loss. Chris Vogt led Cincinnati with 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting plus 2-of-4 at the free throw line. He also pulled down seven rebounds. Keith Williams registered 15 points, seven boards, four steals and three blocked shots. Jaevin Cumberland added 13 points and two caroms off the bench.
College Basketball Betting Trends
The Volunteers are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games. Tennessee is 1-5-1 ATS in its last seven road games.
The Bearcats are 8-23 ATS in their last 31 games overall. Cincinnati is 1-5 ATS in its lst six games overall.
The Volunteers have two close losses on their resume, but also have a pair of quality wins over solid programs in Washington and VCU plus several lopsided wins. I like the way Tennessee competes whether home, away or neutral while its loss is of better quality than what Cincinnati did at home. The Bearcats’ resume does not really impress me thus far and I’d rather put my money on a battle-tested Volunteers squad to bounce back from their loss over the weekend.
