TCU on fire
TCU has won nine straight games coming into tonight following an 85-81 win over Baylor at home. The Horned Frogs didn’t cover in the win, but they had covered in eight straight prior to that. TCU is 12-1 on the season, 1-0 in the Big 12, 1-0 on the road, 8-5 against the spread and 7-6 with the over.
The Horned Frogs are putting up 80.5 points per game this season on offense while shooting 49.9 percent from the field. Defensively, TCU is giving up 66.0 points per game while holding opponents to 40.3 percent shooting from the field and 28.1 percent from the arc. Guard Jaylen Fisher is questionable for this game with a knee injury. He is averaging 12.1 points per game this season. Desmond Bane is leading the team with 14.4 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while Alex Robinson is adding 13.5 points and 8.7 assists per game.
Jayhawks embarrassed at Iowa State
Kansas was absolutely hammered on the road this past weekend, losing 77-60 at Iowa State for their second loss in four games, both of which came on the road. Kansas is just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven. The Jayhawks are 12-2 on the season, 1-1 in the Big 12, 8-0 at home, 6-8 against the spread and 8-5-1 with the over.
The Jayhawks are putting up 79.3 points per game on offense this season while shooting 47.8 percent from the field. Defensively, Kansas is giving up 69.9 points per game while limiting opponents to 40 percent shooting. The team lost Udoka Azubuike for the season with a hand injury. He was averaging 13.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Dedric Lawson is leading the squad with 18.6 points and 11.1 rebounds per contest while Lagerald Vick is adding 14.8 points per contest.
College Basketball Betting Trends
TCU
The Horned Frogs are 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five road games and 4-0 ATS in their last four road games after three or more straight home games.
Kansas
The Jayhawks are 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a winning team and 0-5 ATS in their last five against a team with a winning percentage over .600.
Prediction:
Kansas has been pretty underwhelming for weeks now. They have only covered against non power-5 conference teams over the last five weeks. The loss of Azubuike is going to really hurt them. Today they face a TCU team that has a lot of balance and is playing with plenty of confidence. The Horned Frogs have managed to cover in every game away from home this season, so I will take them with the points against the inconsistent Jayhawks.
College Basketball Prediction: TCU +6
