Tigers on fire
LSU is riding an 8-game winning streak following a 92-82 win over Georgia at home this week. The Tigers are 6-2 against the spread during this win streak. LSU is 15-3 on the season, 5-0 in the SEC, 2-1 on the road, 9-8-1 against the spread and 10-7 with the over.
The Tigers have put up big offensive numbers this season, averaging 83.1 points per game while shooting 48.8 percent from the field. Defensively, LSU is giving up 71.9 points per game while allowing just 29 rebounds per game. Tremont Waters is leading the way with 14.2 points and 6.1 assists per game while Naz Reid is adding 13.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest.
Missouri struggling in SEC
Missouri is coming off a 72-60 loss at Arkansas this week for its fourth loss in five games. The Tigers have failed to cover in the four losses as well. Missouri is now 10-7 on the season, 1-4 in the SEC, 6-3 at home, 7-9-1 against the spread and 9-7 with the under.
The Tigers have one of the worst offenses in the nation, scoring just 67.8 points per game while shooting only 43.6 percent from the field. Defensively, Missouri is holding opponents to only 65.6 points per game while limiting them to 42.8 percent shooting. Jordan Geist is leading the team with 13.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per game while Mark Smith is adding 12.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest.
College Basketball Betting Trends
LSU
LSU is 5-1-1 against the spread in its last seven conference games and 3-1-1 ATS in its last five road games.
Missouri
Missouri is 1-5 against the spread in its last six SEC games and 2-5 ATS in its last seven games following a loss.
Prediction:
LSU has been playing well, including three straight road wins over the likes of Ole Miss and Arkansas. Their offensive production has been very consistent, scoring over 80 in six straight games. Missouri hasn’t passed 66 in three straight, including a 10-point loss at home to Alabama. The lack of scoring is a big concern as I don’t see the Mizzou defense being able to hold LSU in check. The Tigers are just too one dimensional and that should allow LSU to cover.
