Jones struggling from field for ISU
Curtis Jones totaled 14 points (4-15 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, one assist and one steal in 35 minutes during Saturday’s 80-61 loss to Kansas State. Jones scored 14 during Saturday’s loss, though he connected on just four of his 15 shot attempts during the process. It was the second-consecutive down game for Jones, who has shot just 5-for-26 (19.2-percent) during the last two games. Jones has otherwise been a monster during conference play, averaging 20.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.8 steals across 10 games and will look to rebound along with his Cyclone teammates when they travel to Kansas for a ranked showdown Monday.
Harris drops eight dimes in return for KU
Dajuan Harris chipped in 12 points (4-9 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 4-7 FT), two rebounds, eight assists, one block and two steals in 33 minutes during Saturday’s 81-70 loss to Baylor. Harris was considered a game-time call due to an ankle injury that forced him to miss the previous game against UCF, but he was back in the starting lineup for Saturday’s Big 12 matchup. He and the Jayhawks unfortunately couldn’t stave off a monstrous second-half comeback from Baylor, however. On the bright side, his eight assists brought his season-long average to 5.9 apg, which puts him back in a tight race against Elijah Hawkins and Egor Demin for the top mark in the conference.
Iowa State vs. Kansas CBB Prediction:
Even though the Cyclones have won back-to-back games versus the Jayhawks in this series, Kansas is still 7-3 straight up versus Iowa State in the previous 10 meetings between the conference foes. The Jayhawks are also 6-4 against the spread in their last 10 games versus Cyclones, covering twice in the last three meetings. Iowa State has also lost back-to-back games, which includes an 80-61 defeat as a 14.5-point home favorite versus Kansas State.
Iowa State vs. Kansas Hoops Prediction: KANSAS JAYHAWKS -3
