(The Spread) – Plenty of different storylines abound in the world college basketball Sunday with eight top-25 teams in action.

With conference title pictures and bubbles being the talk of college basketball with the regular season winding down, every game reaches added importance. There are many teams with a big game in front of them Sunday and one Big East pairing will match top-25 squads as 16th-ranked Louisville (21-7) hosts No. 4 Pittsburgh (25-3) at 2:00PM EST.
Oddsmakers and online sports book Sportsbook.com have made Louisville a 1-point favorite in the matchup. According to the latest trends, Louisville is 1-1 against the spread versus Pittsburgh over the past three seasons. One of those two games has gone over the total. Pittsburgh is 10-2 ATS as an underdog over the last two seasons.
Pittsburgh rebounded from its third loss of the season Saturday against St. John’s by defeating West Virginia 71-58 on Thursday, setting the Panthers up to win their first Big East regular season title in seven years if they can win at least two of their final three games. In the case of Louisville, it is enjoying a two-game winning streak with victories over Connecticut and Rutgers.
Cardinals senior guard Preston Knowles leads his squad with 14.5 points per game, while Pittsburgh junior guard Ashton Gibbs is averaging 16.4 points per game. Gibbs was held to just nine points in the win over West Virginia.
Elsewhere in college basketball, 19th-ranked North Carolina (21-6) puts its 13-0 home record on the line as it entertains Maryland (18-10) at 7:45PM EST. North Carolina is a 6-point favorite. No. 8 Purdue (23-5 travels to Michigan State (16-11) for a 1:00PM EST tipoff. That contest is currently listed as a pick’em.
