Florida vs. LSU Pick
Will No. 25 Florida hit the road and cruise to a big win when it takes on LSU tonight at 9PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Florida is the favorite on the road in this game, as the Gators are getting odds of -11 points against the Tigers. The over/under total for the game is listed at 155.5 points. LSU has actually won and covered the spread in three of its last four meetings with the Gators.
Florida has lost back-to-back games to drop to 14-5 on the season and 5-2 in the SEC. The Gators have also failed to cover in three straight to fall to 9-8 against the spread. Florida has a pretty strong defense, allowing just 66.6 points per game. When it comes to offense, Florida is putting up 76.9 per contest. KeVaughn Allen is leading the team with 14 points per game. Canyon Barry adds 12.4 per game, but he is questionable for tonight’s contest due to an ankle injury.
LSU is on a five-game losing streak, which puts the Tigers at 9-9 overall and 1-6 in the SEC. LSU has managed to cover in its last two games, but is just 7-9-1 against the spread on the season. LSU averages 76.1 points per game on offense this season while giving up 79.5 per game defensively. Antonio Blakeney is averaging 16.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per game to lead the Tigers while Duop Reath is adding 13.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per contest.

LSU is certainly struggling, but they have managed to be competitive in their recent losses. While Florida has been able to win often, they aren’t blowing teams out a great deal, especially in SEC play. With Barry nursing an ankle injury, that’s one less scoring option for the Gators. While Florida should win, I see this game being a grind, allowing LSU to do enough to cover at home.
