Saturday Big 12 Predictions
There are two key matchups Saturday in the Big 12, both of which take place this evening. Will No. 20 West Virginia and undranked Baylor come up big for bettors?
No. 20 West Virginia at No. 13 Kansas, 6:00 p.m. ET, ESPN
According to oddsmakers from online sports book YouWager, the Jayhawks are now 3-point home favorites to beat the Mountaineers, who opened as 4-point underdogs. The total, meanwhile, sits at 152.5 points after hitting the board at that same number.
The line has moved down despite the majority of the action being on Kansas. As of early Saturday afternoon, 59% of the betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Jayhawks to cover the spread but 56% of the money is on the Mountaineers.
Kansas is just 2-12-1 against the spread at home against conference foes over the last two seasons. The last time the Jayhawks covered the spread at home against a Big 12 opponent was February of last season. That’s remarkable. West Virginia isn’t playing the press as much as usual but Bob Huggins still has a solid defense that will fluster the Jayhawks.

No. 7 Texas Tech at Baylor, 7:30 p.m. ET, ESPNU
The Bears opened as 1-point home underdogs for this matchup but the line has since jumped the fence. Despite 55% of the betting tickets backing Texas Tech at online sportsbooks, Baylor is now a 1.5-point home favorite.
The Bears are hot at the betting window. Despite being 5-5 over their last 10 games straight up, they covered the number seven times in those 10 matchups. It’s the reverse for the Red Raiders, who are 8-2 straight up over their last 10 games but just 5-5 against the number over that span.
The Bears are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games overall, they are 4-1 against the number in their last five home games and have covered the spread all five of their last five games coming off a win.
Big 12 College Basketball Prediction: Baylor Bears -1.5
