Thursday’s AAC Predictions
The American Athletic Conference features some big games on Thursday night. Here are some predictions for the top games in the conference.
No. 11 Wichita State at Central Florida, 7PM ET (ESPN)
According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Wichita State is favored on the road tonight, as the Shockers are getting odds of -10 points against the Knights. The Shockers picked up an 81-62 win over UCF at home back on Jan. 25. Wichita State has managed to win its last three road games, covering in two of them. That includes a win at Cincinnati. However, Wichita State is just 5-5 against the spread on the road and UCF is 7-3 ATS at home. Their defense holds opponents to just 58.2 per game at home. I think that will lead them to covering this double-digit spread. AAC PREDICTIONS: CENTRAL FLORIDA +10
Tulsa at East Carolina, 7PM ET (ESPNU)
Tulsa is favored on the road in this game, as the Golden Hurricanes are getting odds of -8 points against East Carolina. Tulsa has dominated this series, winning eight of the last nine. They are also 3-1 against the spread in the last four meetings. That includes a 79-53 win and cover at home back on Dec. 28. The Tulsa defense and offense are better on average that ECU. Going on the road shouldn’t make enough of a difference in this one. The Hurricanes are 6-4 ATS on the road as is. AAC PREDICTIONS: TULSA -8
No. 10 Cincinnati at Tulane, 9PM ET (ESPN)
Oddsmakers have Cincinnati as a big road favorite. The Bearcats are getting odds of -12.5 points against the Green Wave. The spread is great for a road team, but Tulane is just 3-7 against the spread at home. The Bearcats have also covered in their last two games at Tulane. Cincinnati’s defense will be able to swarm Tulane and establish a quick lead. I don’t see Tulane having the offense to fight back from there. AAC PREDICTIONS: CINCINNATI -12.5
