Big East Tournament Odds
NEW YORK, NY (TheSpread) – There is no bigger conference tournament than the Big East Tournament, and the 2011 version tips off on Tuesday from Madison Square Garden.

The Big East Tournament features four games each of the first three days. The bottom eight seeds of the 16-team tournament all play on Tuesday with the four winners advancing to the next round where the 5-8 seeds await on Wednesday. The four winners there then advance to the quarterfinals where the top 4 seeds await. The title game will be played on Saturday night.
Pittsburgh enters the tournament as the favorite according to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com as they have 7/4 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Syracuse (11/5), Notre Dame (4/1), and three others have 8/1 odds.
Pitt enters as the top seed and will have the first two rounds off. The Panthers won the regular season title with a 15-3 conference mark and a 27-4 overall record. Pitt is a two-time winner of this tournament, the last coming in 2008.
Syracuse is the No. 4 seed as it went 12-6 in conference play and 25-6 overall. Syracuse is a five-time winner of this tournament, the last coming in 2006.
Notre Dame was a surprise all season and is the No. 2 seed in the tournament with a 14-4 conference record and 35-5 overall record. The Irish have never won this tournament.
Among the 8/1 odds are Connecticut, who is the 9 seed and won this tournament seven times, more than any other team. St. Johns, who plays homes games at MSG frequently, is also among the 8/1 odds. St. Johns has the No. 5 seed.
